OK so RedHat 7 installs, faultless, network card N.P, but the modem and of coarse anything attached to "that daughterboard", isn't recognised nor even seen as for the life of me I can't find the drivers for that before I even "think" about fighting with the PCI Modem inserted into the "thing". I call it "thing" because other than a sting of numbers longer than your average trojan it has nothing printed to identify itself, so "thing" will suffice for now. Oh it has Dell appropriately inpregnated upon it's nearly obsolete body. ///help removestiletto_reborn@hotmail.com

in the long run, it is better to buy a serial ext. modem if you are are installing linux.if you really want a pci winmodem you will need to get a modem such as a connexant hsf or hcf modem.www.connexant.com will link you to their site where you can get a driver for the modem.the basic driver is free, the 56k,fax, etc. cost $14.00 to download. there are two things to remember when installing linus, any version, chech out the compat list on red hat site, especially printers and modems. aol does not support linux, you will have to get a local isp or netscape  etc. if you go on line.  hope this helps.   bill
