I hate to stae the obvious but have you tried powering up with the CD in the drive and selecting boot from CD using the F12 (?) key to show a boot device menu?
I am not familiar with grub but if the install went OK you should have a menu with a default which boots after a timeout. Could you try 'boot' at the > prompt... Just shooting in the dark.
