Booting system

Since restoring system to factory settings on my Dell 5150, which resolved most problems, but since then a boot-up problem has arisen.

Boot up stops with a message ''Drive 1 not found.   SerialATA, SATA-

Floppy Diskette seek failure.   (Drive A disabled as no floppy 31/2 drive present)

F1 to continue   F2 setup.     After F1 system continues to boot.

F2 Setup reveals:-    Boot Sequence    On Board orUSB Floppy Drive         Not Present

No 1 On board SATA Drive                Not present

No 2 On Board IDE Hard Drive         Not present

                                    Drives                   Diskette Drive                                      Off

Drive 0:   SATA - O                               On          (When set to Off, message reads ''No Boot Device available'')

                                                                 Drive 1 :  SATA - 2                                On

                                                                 Drive 2:  PATA - O                                 On

                                                                Drive 3:  PATA - 1                                  On

SATA Operation 0                                 RAID Autodetect / ATA

I seem to have tried all variations I can think of but Boot problem remains.  It seems that  'Not Present' in Boot Sequences need changing, but how?

What other settings can I change?

Drive 0 is your boot drive, so never turn that off. If you have only one hard drive turn Drive 1 sata 2 Off. Mention your operating system if you need to post again.

Thanks for the info, that has helped a lot.   I apologise for not mentioning OS, but I am using Windows XP.

PC now boots OK
