BSOD in Win 7 (or Vista) after using Mint 8 (or 7)
I have DELL studio XPS 1340. Originally Windows Vista was installed and I have installed with dual boot Mint 7. Now I have Windows 7 with Mint 8. In both cases if I reboot in Windows after using Mint I get the following BSOD
A problem has been detected and Windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.
DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
If this is the first time you've seen this stop error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again follow these steps:
Check to make sure any new hardware or software is properly installed. If this is a new installation, ask your hardware or software manufacturer for any windows updates you might need.
If problems continue, disable or remove any newly installed hardware or software. Disable BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing. If you need to use Safe Mode to remove or disable components, restart your computer, press F8 to select Advanced Startup Options and then select Safe Mode.
Technical Information:
*** STOP: 0x000000D1 (0x0000000000000000, 0x0000000000000002, 0x0000000000000000, 0xFFFFF88001163F22)
*** nvstor64.sys - Address FFFFF88001163F22 base at FFFFF8800115E00, Datestamp 4a4aac1f
After this BSOD I have to reboot and I get the Recovery screen and I have to choose the Normal Start option to boot Windows 7 (if I choose the Recovery option the system is brought back to an old configuration and moreover GRUB is erased).
Does anyone had the same problem ? Or do you have any suggestion in order to fix this issue ?
Thanks in advance

Windows 2000 would give this error (0x000000D1) if using a Logitech Mouse with mouse ware 9.10 &9.24.
Here is a Microsoft article on the error (0x000000D1) Scroll down until you see the error 0x000000D1 with DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL and then read that portion of the article.

Hi, Did you partition your HDD with vista or did you use gparted in mint to create the mint partition. if you used gparted it sometimes causes a read error in the HDD. one solution that has been suggested is to create a partition in windows reformat it to fat 32 then defrag it, then install mint.
