Computer Won't Start After Ubuntu Installation

Question

I have a 4-5 year old Dell Dimension 2400 with a 2.4 GHz Intel Celeron, Intel 845 GV chipset, a 60 GB HD, 356 MB DDR SDRAM.  It previously was running XP with no problems, however, I was interested in using Ubuntu as I just purchased a new Dell laptop.  The ubuntu install went well and it ran great.  However, once I turned it off the computer wouldn't start up again the next day.  When I tried to turn it on, the start button blinked orange instead of its normal green. Sounds like a hardware problem to me, is the computer giving you any beeps when you turn it on?

There are no beeps or lights when the computer 'starts.'  Recently it has even gone to when the power button is pushed, no lights turn on with the computer.  If enough time is waited it will start blinking orange again with no other action occuring.   P.S.  Thank you for the help

My first guess would be that the power supply is dieing.

Thank you for all of your help.  It seems like you hit the nail on the head.  Took a psu from a compatible Dell and fired right up.  Now off to purchase one.  Thanks again.
