Dell Dimension 2350 and PCI video doesn't work! Please help
Hello, I've got a Dell Dimension 2350, with a 2.2 Ghz P4 and a gig of ram, When I drop in a PCI videocard, it fails to work.
I've attempted 4 different Linux Distrobutions on this computer, and they all fail in one way or another
Install of Debian-Sarge 2.6.x kernel - cannot start X
Install of Debian-Sarge 2.4.x kernel - Cannot start X
Booting of Simply Mepis 2004 - Text Mode only
SuSE 9.2 installs the first CD, reboots and fails with a cannot execute /sbin/mingetty error.
Fedora 3 - Cannot start X
Every one of these OS's have worked with the onboard card.
I have tried:
16 meg PCI Nvidia Vanta Card
64 Meg PCI 3d Prophet 4000xt card
16 Meg PCI ATI All in Wonder card.
I have set the onboard Video to "Auto" and am running the latest bios (A02)
Any assistance given would be appreciated, thank you.
