Dell xps13 developer edition usb-c to vga adapter
Hi,
I just bought a brand new Dell XPS 13 9360 developer edition for work running Ubuntu 16.04. I also got a Dell USB-C to VGA adapter because I have to give some work related talks in the next weeks.
I couldn't find any information to this adapter here (I just heard about issues with the HDMI adapter). If Dell sells a Developer edition there must be a way to connect the laptop to a projector via VGA cable.
Best,
Joko

The Dell DC200(?) which is the multi-adapter, does not work that well. I bought a cheap usbc-vga and usbc-hdmi adapter which works. However the key seems to be that the Intel drivers in the kernel and in X for the 4.4 kernels is not quite up to it. On my system it refuses to use them and instead uses the fbdev X driver which only allows mirroring from the screen out to the the outside. This means that if the projector is less then 1920x1080 you will only get part of the screen on the projector.
However, the 4,8.15 kernel with the x11-driver-video-intel seems to give the full range of options
