Fedora Core 4 on Latitude Cpi D266xt

Hi,

During install of Fedora core 4 the install stops at 'running /sbin/loader' any ideas.
I have tried 'linux nofb' and 'linux nousb'

Thanks

Any usb devices on install, you may want to disable those first...they sometimes cause issues with installs of linux.
Next there are some other install options you can try: noapic and noprobe. Give both of those a shot. Try them at the same time. Remember the cursor will blink and it may take a little bit for it to load from this point, so wait several minutes.

Are you dual booting or doing a singal install?

Post back with a little more detail or if you get it to work, let us know what got you there.

Good luck.

Hi,

The install is a clean install - the machine has Fedora 3 on it. I will be wipping the drive clean if I get the chance. I have tried the two flags you mentioned but perhaps I did it wrong. I have tried seperating each flag with a coma and a blank space. (ie linux nousb, noprobe... and linux nousb noprobe) Should I disable USB devices in the BIOS?? I have the system free standing (not in docking port during install) and I have removed all external devices including PCMCIA network cards and modems. Basically the machine only has power attached and the CDROM and battery in the modular bays.

Thanks

Ok first disable the usb devices in bios, that may be your answer, try install and see where you get.

the flags should have worked this way:
linux nousb noprobe

outside of that, let me know if you are still getting the same issue.
