graphics using ubuntu 7.10 (gutsy gibbon)

hi dudes i am very new to linux and have no idea so i installed the operating system fine got the wifi working but now i have a problem with my graphics **the composite extension is not available** Any suggestions Many Thanks

What graphics card / driver do you have? If you are using fglrx for an ATI card, see if this applies to you: http://forum.compiz-fusion.org/showpost.php?p=38832&postcount=6

Have you gone to System > Preferences > GLDesktop? Ubuntu will automatically install the driver you need. There are still issues with ATI graphics cards though.
