Initial Impressions and an Installation Question

I got my Sputnik today and wrote up some initial impressions here:

http://blog.mattwoodward.com/2012/08/dell-sputnik-ultrabook-initial.html

Very impressed so far. Fantastic little machine.

As far as installing Ubuntu goes I wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something.

Probably due to my excitement in getting started, when I went to http://hwe.ubuntu.com/uds-q/dellxps/ I completely missed the link to the ISO. So instead I installed plain Ubuntu 12.04.1 (64-bit) and then added the Sputnik PPAs and updated/upgraded.

Given that, am I going to be missing anything other than the additional software (git, etc.) that you list at the link above?

Specifically I wanted to make sure I'm not missing anything important like touchpad drivers or something else that would potentially impact my impressions of anything.

Thanks.

Thank you for the article.  I had read it earlier this morning while looking over stories about Dell online.  I will have to check with the Sputnik team to see what the differences are.  I recall a touchpad driver update but that may have been folded into Ubuntu 12.04.1.

Hi Matt,

Sorry its taken so long to get back to you.  Im assuming you got this sussed but if not, i pinged one of our engineers and got this response back:

As long as the PPA is enabled, he'll get everything driver wise.  Any of the cloud tools that were in Ubuntu that were preloaded can be manually installed.

Thanks for your support of Project Sputnik!
