What kind of errors is it throwing, and what happens when you try to start the install process? Some people have had success using the alternate CD, available at http://www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu/download. This is a text-based install-only CD.

Hi I am also not able to install Fedora Core 4 on my Inspiron 1520. It cannot detect my hard drive. What can be done? I has previously disabled the SATA in the BIOS and changed the setting to ATA.
