On the inspiron 2200
you have either intel's card or dell 1370
and if you have the second one, i could be difficult
because the broadcom driver does'nt exist for linux
so you can use ndiswrapper http://ndiswrapper.sourceforge.net/
or choose special driver http://bcm43xx.berlios.de/ (but this is new)

the touchpad runs with an extra X driver named synaptics.
The wireless card runs with this driver: http://ipw2200.sourceforge.net/ and the needed firmware for legal download there.
Included (only driver) in the newest 2.6.14.3 kernel or maybe in update of the redhat kernel.
