Latitude E5540 Dual Monitors
Hi,
I have a latitude E5540, that originally shipped with windows 7 pre-installed.
I've installed Ubuntu 12.04 using the Dell supplied Ubuntu build, and the Dell Driver Installer to install all relevent drivers.
I've got the following graphics::
lspci | egrep -i "vga|nvidia"
00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Haswell-ULT Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 0b)
03:00.0 3D controller: NVIDIA Corporation GF117M [GeForce 610M/710M / GT 620M/625M/630M/720M] (rev ff)
Everything seems to be working nicely with the laptop, except a dual monitor. When I attach a monitor, either thru the VGA port on the laptop, or via a docking station, the screen, mouse, and keyboard locks up. Via ssh I can still log in however.
Support states that the laptop may come with different hardware when Ubuntu is pre-installed, but haven't provided any details yet.
Anyone using a E5540 with Ubuntu pre-installed? If so, is your lspci output different from mine?
Anyone using dual monitors on a E5540 with Ubuntu pre-installed?
Anyone using dual monitors on a E5540 with linux with the same or similar graphics configuration?
Thanks!
Also, here is a little bit of what kern.log shows:
