Linux and MediaDirect

Hi,
I'd like to install Suse 10.2 on my new Inspiron E1705, but I'd like to keep the MediaDirect feature, and I've heard that any OS installation might break it. If so, how should I proceed (or is it possible at all)?
Thank you very much.
PS: My processor is T7200, I should get 64-bit edition, right?

I installed Linux on my laptop and Media direct still works. I did not allow Linux to write the MBR. Instead I have it write to the boot sector of the Linux partition and use the Windows boot loader instead.

The Goodell site is very useful to undertand Media Direct and the Dell PC Restore Partition http://www.goodells.net/dellrestore/index.htm This is a good guide for Media Direct and Linux http://www.notebookforums.com/thread164182.html
