Linux/Ubuntu

I have a Mini 910 with this operating system and frankly I don't like it. What would it take to remove this OP and install Windows XP or VISTA?

wandi,

Thank you for using the Dell Community Forum.

You would need an external cd/dvd drive as well as a Windows XP disc.  The drivers are available for WinXP for this system on our website below.

Vista has a 15gb minimum disk space requirement and reccomends 1gb of RAM.  Does your Mini 9 meet those minimum system requirements?  Mine doesn't.  XP Home Edition might run with 8gb of disk space and 512mb of RAM.

Here's a suggestion.  Why not try switching to the Mist Theme under System/Appearance.  At least it has a blue color and looks more similar to Windows 98.  Either that, or try switching to the KDE desktop environment in the Synaptic Package Manager.  KDE is more Windows Like.  I agree that the ugly brown/orange default Ubuntu GNOME desktop environment is kind of dull.
