Oh gosh! sorry I misread. Well, technically the gestures will work but if they are going to be useful that I cannot say. Why? don't you give it a try if something goes wrong just don't execute the Script after rebooting :)
Update to the touchpad situation on xps 13 w/ new Haswell. The user felipejfc has forked the xf86-input-synaptics and has ported again the -m flag needed by xSwype. There's more, he has just added also the 4 and 5 fingers support! Check on his github account. Btw, I created a package in the AUR for Arch linux. Of course this is the preferred method since we can use the latest xorg and xf86-video-intel drivers with all the goodies for our new gpu. Enjoy!
dieghen89, thanks for your comment, it was so useful! I've installed the felipejfc's driver and xSwipe, and it just works. My laptop is alienware 14 (sorry for offtopic, but I think they have same touchpads..) with synaptics touchpad, running debian jessie with gnome 3.8. The only problem was that 'ctrl + alt + down' combo dosn't work in xswipe (the gesture is recognized, but nothing happens), I think that can be because of on this laptop down button with FN means play/pause action, so maybe it has some special handling within gnome or X. So I just changed the shortcut to 'ctrl + alt + n', and now it works like a charm (ctrl + alt + down still works if pressed on keyboard, looks like a bug in gnome..)
I followed your guide on github, but when I try to execute the perl script I get:
synclient: invalid option -- 'm' Usage: synclient [-h] [-l] [-V] [-?] [var1=value1 [var2=value2] ...] -l List current user settings -V Print synclient version string and exit -? Show this help message var=value Set user parameter 'var' to 'value'.
Hi, I had a similar problem, '-m' option was removed in the latest version of synclient. It makes it impossible to use xSwipe with it. So your options are either to use older version of synclient, or to use a forked version from github (see this thread for more info https://github.com/iberianpig/xSwipe/issues/6). The forked version is here https://github.com/felipejfc/xserver-xorg-input-synaptics. Hope this will help you!

Hello,
I have the XPS12 - can your script also be used to add some touchscreen gestures?
The touchpad gestures are fine for me (only horizontal scrolling is missing out of the box and how do I get the middle mouse button?).
Touchscreen gestures like moving windows with 3 fingers work fine as well, but emulating the left/right keys would be nice to have.
Thanks in advance

Is there a separation between touchPAD and touchSCREEN gestures or would they be identically than?

right now I have not much time, but I will test it next weekend.
Is there a chance that I might fix the touch_end issue as well?

I got it to run but I'm encountering a lot of lag. The cursor seems to freeze at random intervals for several seconds at a time.
Any ideas?

Hi all, i'm trying xswipe in the new XPS 13 DE Haswell. First thing i noticed is that the touchpad is now a synaptics and not a cypress anymore:
[diego@xps13 ~]$ xinput list | grep Touch
⎜ ↳ SYNAPTICS Synaptics Large Touch Screen id=9 [slave pointer (2)]
⎜ ↳ SynPS/2 Synaptics TouchPad id=12 [slave pointer (2)]
I'm on archlinux and to evaluate the touchpad capabilities i downgraded xorg to 11.3 and xf86-input-synaptics to 1.6.3-1. Here's the fingers detected:
[diego@xps13 ~]$ synclient -m 100
time x y z f w l r u d m multi gl gm gr gdx gdy
0.000 2885 2887 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 00000000
1.401 2344 3061 65 1 0 0 0 0 0 0 00000000 -> 1 finger
1.502 2344 3061 68 1 0 0 0 0 0 0 00000000
1.602 2344 3061 69 1 0 0 0 0 0 0 00000000
1.702 2344 3061 70 1 0 0 0 0 0 0 00000000
1.902 2344 3061 71 1 0 0 0 0 0 0 00000000
2.002 2345 3063 70 2 0 0 0 0 0 0 00000000 -> 2 fingers
2.102 2345 3063 72 2 0 0 0 0 0 0 00000000
2.202 2345 3063 72 3 0 0 0 0 0 0 00000000 -> 3 fingers
2.302 2345 3063 70 3 0 0 0 0 0 0 00000000
2.403 2345 3063 72 3 0 0 0 0 0 0 00000000
2.503 2345 3067 72 3 0 0 0 0 0 0 00000000
2.903 2341 3071 72 3 0 0 0 0 0 0 00000000
3.003 2329 3087 70 2 0 0 0 0 0 0 00000000 -> 4 fingers
3.103 2317 3099 70 2 0 0 0 0 0 0 00000000
Seems like 4 and of course 5 fingers are not detectable. Somebody has further infos?

I followed your guide on github, but when I try to execute the perl script I get:
synclient: invalid option -- 'm'
Usage: synclient [-h] [-l] [-V] [-?] [var1=value1 [var2=value2] ...]
-l List current user settings
-V Print synclient version string and exit
-? Show this help message
var=value Set user parameter 'var' to 'value'.
Any clues on why this might happen?
Many thanks!

Hello !
I just recevied the XPS 13 (2015) and i'm trying to get xSipe properly working.
I got the 3 fingers swipe up, left and right detected, but nothing with 4 fingers and 3 fingers down neither.
Did someone managed to get it works properly?

libinput-gestures is working quitte nice. Some features are broken underwayland, but works fine on X11.
