Slackware SATA Install Problems

Question

Tried to install Slackware 10.2 using the sata.i kernel. It starts loading up fine; it detects the USB devices and everything. Then, when it gets to the point where i think it's detecting the SATA devices it just freezes. It says something along the lines of 'Detected Host 0' and does that for 'hosts' 0-3. The last one, host 4, it says +echo right in front of it. That's the last line that does anything. If the bare.i loading is any indication this error occurs right before the keyboard mapping option.   Is there something wrong with my sata.i kernel or slackware cd? Is there a way to just use my slackware 10.0 cd and load sata.i onto a floppy? When the tried the latter, rawrite wouldn't work; it said i did not have permission to access the kernel and just gave me an error. Thanks for any help.

Which model computer do you have? Laptop or desktop?

I have put 10.2 on a GX280 w/SATA drives using SATA.i kernel. The SATA.i kernel should boot on another system (to verify your disk/kernel is good). I'm with Linux_Rox, 'What machine do you have ??'
