[Solved][Dell Ubuntu] Only 512 Mo left ?
Hello, I would like to buy a Dell Ubuntu Portable, and whereas we could put 1024 and 2048 Mo in it, we can only put 512 Mo now. Link : http://configure2.euro.dell.com/dellstore/config.aspx?b=&c=fr&cs=frdhs1&l=fr&oc=N1264015&s=dhs Do you think it is normal or is it a mistake ? Thank you in advance,

All insperons come with 2 DIMMs and will handle up to 2 GB DDR 2....
Although you may wish to add more DDR 2 to the DIMMs, I suggest you get them through tiger direct dot com or directron dot com for about 10 USD each.
Of course all things lappy cost a bit more right ???
I'd say that is the key to one happy lappy.

I'm sure that there are discount hardware dealers in France, so while you mi ght pat 10 euro, it's no big deal....
The postage to france though is only 3 USD or about 2 Euro first class. Not an ideal way to go but I've ordered stuff from france several times and it works out pretty good if you buy something that don't weigh very much.
Still, all in all, Your best bet is to buy the hardware that you need instead of going through Dell.OverPriced.Com/.... Much much cheaper.
My French is far worse than my Spanish so I'm not going to be much help in the discount hardware department in French....
Hope this helps !

I read the link you submitted, and it does only show 512 MB DDR 2 being available to you. So I called Dell and he did say that all lappys have more than one DIMM port, so it seems to me that the answer is to buy a 2 GB DDR 2 through some one like Tiger Direct.com or Directron.com {or similar site in France} then just plop it in there.
Much much cheaper than ordering it through Dell as I said..
Best wishes !
