Sound on Slax
It's just a live CD I'm playing with at the moment, but I can't seem to get sound to work on either my Dim4550 or my Compaq. I hear that this is an issue with Slackware and would like to figure it out on the live CD before I make any serious decisions about which distro is eventually going on my hard drive(s).
I have an onboard sound card on the Compaq and a very nice Creative Sound Blaster card on the Dell. I'm a Linux newbie in that "exuberant and idiotic" stage of development and tend to just click on the defaults unless I understand the reasons for doing otherwise.
