Various issues
I received the XPS 13 a few days ago and experienced a lot of problems with you should expect from a laptop which costs over 1500 euro's.
The following issues I could fix myself. Maybe this feedback helps other users.
- I couldn't connect with a WPA2 Enterprise AP with the OEM installation. Had to upgrade all packages first using a different AP.
- apt-get update && apt-get upgrade ended up in a conflict. I had to remove libc6-dbg:amd64 first to continue the upgrade.
- on boot network manager didn't start. It tried to configure a non-exsting interface eth0. I removed /etc/network/interfaces.d/eth0.cfg to solve this problem.
The following problems still exist:
- It is impossible to list and connect to an access point on channel 12 or 13
- Trackpad glitches I could fix, but right click doesn't work anymore.
- Suspend errors on boot
Especially the wifi problem is pretty annoying. On one location I depend on an access point which is configured on channel 12. Is this a configuration problem or a driver problem?

Part of this is a driver problem. This new hardware has drivers in the 3.19 kernel which isn't yet available for 14.04. This is especially true for your trackpad issues. You can, however, install the 3.19 kernel using the Beta Kernel Enablement repositories. The next thing I would try doing is just that. I have a write up/thread about it here:
http://en.community.dell.com/techcenter/os-applications/f/4613/t/19632562
Here is my system info for reference:
gshulegaard@ronin:~$ lsb_release -a
No LSB modules are available.
Distributor ID: Ubuntu
Description: Ubuntu 14.04.2 LTS
Release: 14.04
Codename: trusty
gshulegaard@ronin:~$ uname -a
Linux ronin 3.19.0-18-generic #18~14.04.1-Ubuntu SMP Wed May 20 09:38:33 UTC 2015 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
gshulegaard@ronin:~$
On the 3.19 kernel I do not have WiFi issues, suspend issues, or trackpad issues. I don't use suspend that much, so it's possible that the suspend issue is still a problem and I just haven't hit it yet.

Thanks for your reply.
I first tried to use the fix from http://www.dell.com/support/article/us/en/19/SLN297219/en.
But that ended up in the right mouse button not working anymore.
I will give 3.19 kernel a try asap.
Do you also experience Wifi problems with channel 12 and 13?
It is probably related to this issue bugs.debian.org/.../bugreport.cgi

I am based in the US so I don't really use channel 12 and 13, however, it would appear that the Broadcom drivers I am using do support channels 12 and 13:
gshulegaard@ronin:~$ sudo iwlist wlan0 f
wlan0 32 channels in total; available frequencies :
Channel 01 : 2.412 GHz
Channel 02 : 2.417 GHz
Channel 03 : 2.422 GHz
Channel 04 : 2.427 GHz
Channel 05 : 2.432 GHz
Channel 06 : 2.437 GHz
Channel 07 : 2.442 GHz
Channel 08 : 2.447 GHz
Channel 09 : 2.452 GHz
Channel 10 : 2.457 GHz
Channel 11 : 2.462 GHz
Channel 12 : 2.467 GHz
Channel 13 : 2.472 GHz
Channel 14 : 2.484 GHz
Channel 32 : 5.16 GHz
Channel 34 : 5.17 GHz
Channel 36 : 5.18 GHz
Channel 38 : 5.19 GHz
Channel 40 : 5.2 GHz
Channel 42 : 5.21 GHz
Channel 44 : 5.22 GHz
Channel 46 : 5.23 GHz
Channel 48 : 5.24 GHz
Channel 50 : 5.25 GHz
Channel 52 : 5.26 GHz
Channel 54 : 5.27 GHz
Channel 56 : 5.28 GHz
Channel 58 : 5.29 GHz
Channel 60 : 5.3 GHz
Channel 62 : 5.31 GHz
Channel 64 : 5.32 GHz
Channel 66 : 5.33 GHz
Current Frequency:2.412 GHz (Channel 1)
Again, I have never used the channels specifically (at least as far as I am aware), but my drivers are reporting them for support.
For reference, here is my general system information after the 3.19 kernel upgrade:
gshulegaard@ronin:~$ lsb_release -a

@Yoshz and Community,
Regarding the right-click issue: The downloadable files at the below link should be updated next week. This update should include a fix for the right-click issue.

@Yoshz,
Thank you for your post on this. I've sent you a friend request as I'd like to see if I can get you a Dell Ubuntu expert to reach out to you.
Looking forward to hearing from you.

Thanks @DantesRequiem. After I updated to the 3.19 kernel the trackpad problems were gone. However I had to disable "Tap to click" as it triggers while I use the keyboard ("Disable while typing" setting doesn't solve it).
@DELL-Justin C. Very good you guys are working on it. But it would be a good thing if you somehow list the known issues on that page for new users.
The Wifi problem I can't reproduce now as I am not near the channel 12 router the couple of days.
@DantesRequiem, I can list all those channels as well, but when the AP's on channel 12 do not show up when I run "sudo iwlist wlan0 scanning"
But as mentioned earlier, I think it is a driver problem but hope it gets solved soon.

@yoshz, I've got the same Channel 12/13 issue. I've mentioned this in the following unsuitably named thread: http://en.community.dell.com/techcenter/os-applications/f/4613/t/19633153. Still no fix.
@DELL-Justin C, I am suffering the same Channel 12/13 and resume from suspend issues. Since you're trying to get Dell Ubuntu experts in touch with people would you do the same for me? I was told someone from ProSupport would be in touch about my support case raised (911303407) but that's sitting with no response. Also, when is the knowledge base going to materialise? It looks like people have gone off on completely different directions (kernel upgrade in situ, upgrade to 15.04, backporting patches into kernel, replacing broadcom drivers, etc.) so I think it's time to get an official statement from Dell even if it's just "sit tight with 14.04, it's broken but we're going to get 14.04 working fully". I don't want to upgrade to 15.04 only to find it's more work to get any patches you produce deployed.
Regards,
Bob

@Bobmcch,
Thank you for your post here from the 27th. It's my understanding that the Dell EMEA team has reached out to you today.
We've added some new links to the Sticky:
Yesterday:
Trackpad cursor freezing issue: http://www.dell.com/support/article/us/en/19/SLN297219/en
Today:
May not resume from suspend running 14.04: http://www.dell.com/support/article/SLN297551/en
Unwanted keyboard character repeat: http://www.dell.com/support/article/SLN297563/en
More to come.
Keep the feedback coming.

The trackpad cursor fixes were posted on May 12, not yesterday. This is confirmed on the download page which shows the upload date as May 12.
The resume from suspend fix is broken. The downloaded file does not have a proper file format ending and ends up being seen by Ubuntu as a "BIN" file. Double clicking on it tries to open Archive Manager which then spits out an error. Appending a ".deb" file ending opens Package Manager, but it reports an error.
Some users have reported that flashing to BIOS A04 doesn't quite resolve the keyboard repeats fully. I have A04 and seem to notice a repeated character here or there. Although BIOS A04 did resolved 99% of the issues, so the system is usable.

Justin - can you explain what the resume from suspend patch is actually doing? Can we do these steps manually? Also, should we be applying this patch on Ubuntu 15.04 and Kernel 4.x?

The file should have the rar extension, so you need to install unrar to extract it.. After that you can install de deb file.
However all it does is adding the kernel parameters "pcie_aspm=force radeon.modeset=0 nouveau.modeset=0" which didn't solve the suspend problem for me.
Edit: I only have these suspend problems a couple of times since yesterday. I had it once after I tried the patch, but now it looks like it works.
My trackpad also didn't work (no cursor) the first time I booted.
I'm using kernel 3.19.0-19 right on the moment (updated yesterday from 3.19.0-18).

Justin (and Dell) - just so you know, Bios A04 does not fix the keyboard issues. I am running BIOS A04 and the keyboard still throws out quite a few duplicate chars. It seems like it needs more aggressive de-bouncing.

Thank you Mrc01 and Community for your feedback. I'm passing your responses up the ladder.
Please note: Linux is not my personal area of expertise so if you have a question about Linux, I will likely not be able to answer it myself. I've just been recently helping out and posting information that Dell would like to share with this kind Community.
Keep your feedback coming.

I must say, the suspend problem still exists. I had a couple of freezes the last 2 days.
One time the laptop froze a minute after I was working with it. Wifi wasn't working and the moment I tried to troubleshoot it, the laptop froze.
