what are you using

I'm dual booting with unbuntu & xp on my 8400.
I have xp on one hard drive & unbuntu on the other one
I have edited grub so xp is the default boot os.
That way my wife is happy about not learning a new os, &
I get to play.

My XPS M1710 ( t2400/1Gb/go7900gs) is currently set up to dual boot xp and fedora (zod).

I recently acquired an old beige dell pentiumiii desktop (which was destined for the trash heap) which is presently running kubuntu.

My main desktop is a custom sgi octane2.

Dual booting XP and Ubuntu 6.10 on my Dell Dimension 8200 right now. Also installed Ubuntu on an older Compaq Presario 5630 (and getting ready to dual boot Ubuntu and Elive or VectorLinux on that Compaq too. Haven't decided which one yet). I'll be able to squeeze a few more years out of both of those computers now. I'm quite happy about this :)

Currently Dual Booting XP Pro and Kubuntu 6.10 Had to do a reformat, and having a problem getting 915 resolution and ndiswrapper + teh broadcom drivers working right with the system, will have that finished as soon as I have time to think about it, ran fine before, only thing that's changed is the headers so...

Dual boot with XP and openSuSE 10.2 on a Presicion M90. Must say that I until recently had Vista installed for a couple of months, and it just "don't impress me much". Can also mention that the 3d-desktop effects in SuSE are far more interesting, useful and good looking than any of the visual "enhancements " in Vista.

Does openSUSE use Beryl? I just installed Beryl few days ago on one of my computers running Ubuntu to play around with. It's pretty darned cool. And useful. I had no idea that switching from desktop to desktop in a cube form would be so useful. And the little thumbnail images of all the programs one has open. Very useful.

Were there any quirks necesary to get suse installed? Did you need to use the failsafe install? (Most systems I've tried need the install done in failsafe mode. Once the kernel is updated then everything works with the normal boot options.)

"Does openSUSE use Beryl?"

Last I heard openSuse is moving to the merged compiz-Beryl project.
