wireless config problem in opensuse 10.2

i am having a problem getting my wireless card to work in suse 10.2. i have downloaded the dell driver ipw3945 for my 1505 and cannot get it to install. after reading the directions i am wondering if this driver is something i am going to have to assemble? if so do need to do this in a compiler program? has anyone else had to use this driver and if you did please for the love of God tell me how you did it.

I had Suse 10.1 and 10.2 installed with slight problems getting the network card to work. With Ubuntu I had none. I have the 3945 card installed. The system detected my card and installed the driver. I had to reboot and configure my network wep key a few times to get it working with suse.

thank you Mr Bleu, i took open suse 10.2 off my machine and had to fix the MBR -(dual boot) and windows was fine however when i tried to install ubuntu i got all sorts of error codes and the desktop wouldnt load. so i am trying to find a fix for this, but as of yet my overall experience with linux and forums has been medicore at best - (present company excluded) at least you tried to help and i appreciate that. if you have any more suggestion i am open to anything. thanks scott
