The broadcom chipset has no linux native drivers. Broadcom doesn't provide any and doesn't release the specs necessary for someone else to create a native linux driver.

Use ndiswrapper. http://ndiswrapper.sourceforge.net/

Be aware, Mandrake 10 comes with ndiswrapper installed.

Use the /usr/sbin/loadndisdriver script to load your card's Windows XP drivers. I'm on a D800 with the Intel 2100 card and it works like a charm.

Something to watch for is the WEP keys, etc. Some of those features have issues in some instances.

I hate to ask this, but I'm kind of a newbie. Could you help me use loadndisdriver? I have downloaded and extracted the Windows XP drivers but I'm not sure which inf and sys file or files to use. I'm using Mandrake 10 on a Dell 5150 with a TrueMobile 1300 MPCI.

Use the .inf and .sys under your XP drivers that came on your cd. I have personally used the drivers with Fedora Core 2 and the Truemobile 1300 and they work flawlessly. I can say that the first time it was very hard to figure out but that is how a person learns. Now i can get my network up in 5 minutes from a reinstall, now that i am familiar with the process. Just follow the instructions verbatim and as long as your kernel is pretty new you will have no problems. I can say that the Redhat 9 kernel was too old and caused me grief but once i went to the newer kernel the problem was solved and NDISWrapper installed flawlessly.

Can you explain that in more detail? I have a D-Link AirPlus DWL-G630 and there is no Linux drivers for it. My PCMCIA Mandrake says "There Is No Controller Detected" I do not get it, PCMCIA does not work or it just no card on it? Another one is the Modem so how I can make it to work? I tried the Linuxant Driver and I went thru a lot of boot problems.

I am using a Latitud D600

Any ideas?
