XPS 13 9360 -- 2.5.0 BIOS results in 'no boot device found'
Firmware update installed this morning on reboot. Hardware diagnostics ran fine, but all I get when restarting the machine is a "No boot device found" message.
No Events found!

I faced the same issue last night. I am running Linux.
It seems the BIOS update removed the Linux boot.
What I did was to go into BIOS, under Boot menu, add back the Linux "Boot Option".
The firmware engineers should have remembered there are people running only Linux OS.

I'm trying to do a clean Ubuntu 17.10 install, but I'm having trouble changing the boot order. The menu option I am trying is BIOS->Settings->General->Boot Sequence, but when I try "Add Boot Option" the only option for File System List is the PciRoot one. I think this is wrong; I'd expect one that has something to do with USB. Could you give me some advice on how to proceed?
UPDATE: Problem solved. For future users, the installation usb should be plugged in while in the BIOS screen in order to switch the boot order to usb first. Other guides I checked mislead me to think it shouldn't be. Hopefully no one else has to spend this much time on such a silly mistake.

FYI there was a bug in Ubuntu 16.04 and Ubuntu 17.10 that was believed to have caused this behavior. It's been fixed now, and if you encounter this issue again please open a new bug up.

Can you please provide more details? Are you on Ubuntu 16.04? If so, can you please confirm the version of fwupd and fwupdate that you have installed?
