XPS 13 Developer Edition - Syndaemon/Touchpad pressure issues

Hey there!  Lots of interesting feedback so far when I've read the forum posts.  The problem I'm having seems to be common but I can't seem to find a fix for it.

Ultimately, the sensitivity of the touchpad is super, super sensitive.  Even the slightest graze of the palm will cause it to fire a button press event (as seen in xinput --test).  The usual fixes such as adjust the palm detection and sensitivity or using the Pointing Devices GUI application aren't really working and don't seem to have any impact at all.  Still just as sensitive no matter what settings I use.

I've also tried adjusting and replacinng the syndaemon settings to force the touchpad to be disabled for 2-3 seconds after typing, but it seems like those settings aren't working either.  I can definitely graze the touchpad while typing and jump out of the window.

Just trying to do some development work and it can get pretty annoying - any recommendations?  I've already tried tweaking syndaemon, xinput and synclient configs.  Maybe there's a driver/firmware update for something like this?
