Yes I have, and its okay, I already scheduled a refund, the new (1 week old) REPLACEMENT system is experiencing random BSODs (DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_something) and (MEMORY_ADDRESS_something...)  and blinking side LEDs (Again), AlienFX Stop Working at start up and RAID 0 Disk Port 2 disk not found, Fail POST (restart loop) BIOS freeing at load...

Unit one:                                                                                                                                                 Unit 2

Vent stopped moving                                                                                                                       Listed above.

Broken HDD cage (pins went behind the jumper)

LED problem (wrong colour, wont light up etc.)

In a way my replaced unit had better quality than this one.

I wish there is someone to complain to, never purchased an product that makes me spend more time fixing than using, is it that Alienware Australia has no quality control or something?

As much as I like Alienware, I guess I will stay tuned to this board, wait for all problem to solve and then make my purchase.

I was told that this is an isolated case that there is a defect in the aurora's design, I can solve all the problem by purchasing an Area 51 / ALX....

I want to ask Area 51 owners, how's your experience with the Area 51 or 51 ALX? how's the quality and reliability? does it break often?

I was told that this is an isolated case that there is a defect in the aurora's design,

So which is it?

1. Isolated case
2. Aurora design defect

... that sentence doesn't make sense

Personally, I think the Aurora design is fine. Do you guys use Battery Backups/ Line Conditioners down there?

the mobo and hard drive cage and not recognizing keys is isolated case,

flickering light in a defect, i.e. most, if not all aurora/aurora alx here in australia will have flickering/blinking LED problem due to the IMO board.

One important question though, does Area 51 use the SAME TYPE OF MIO BOARD AS AURORA? 'cause if it is, that means if i do get a area 51 its still gonna have flickering lights :s

Oh, ok ... if they say so.

Why don't you try this ... connect a normal (different) keyboard and mouse. Use original spinning HDD, if the working OS and drivers are still on it. If not, clean install to original HDD (not new SSD you are trying to install).

See if your mobo and hard-drive cage work and check good. That should check all the original hardware (except keyboard and mouse).

The MIO-Board in the Area-51 is a little more complex, but basically the same. It uses the same Command Center software. Not sure about blinking lights but apparently some have issues with sensors and louvers with the latest release of CC.
