Hi!

Please confirm, when you press the function key, do you see the wireless icon coming up on the screen? If you don't then you're missing the OSD driver. You can download and install the driver here:

Primary Surface Test Failed: If you're getting that error during the Video Card or HDD test on AlienAutopsy, it's usually a false negative. You can confirm its not a hardware issue by running a different test like ePSA.

Okay, I love you!!

I did the ePSA and followed the prompt. Everything checks out okay, no errors. So that's wonderful, and thank you!!

While I was in there, I went into the BIOS, and found that the function keys had been set to 'multimedia' instead of 'Function keys' after re-setting, I booted the computer and VOILA, the wireless turns on!! My questions are ANSWERED!! Thank you so much.

In regards to the Primary Surface Test Failed, after running the ePSA diagnoses dose that mean it's just something wrong with the software reading the test it performs? I'm not even sure what a Surface Test dose?

Is that something I should be worried about later down the line? Or as long as the ePSA says everything is good, I should be okay?

Thank you for your time.

Thank you for your reply. I have confirmed that when I press FN+F2, that no wireless icon appears on my screen. I downloaded both files in the link you provided, and followed the instructions as given. After restarting my computer, I unplug'ed my Ethernet cable and then tried to enable or turn on the wireless via the FN+F2 key on the keyboard.

Nothing happened. I checked the network adapter and settings, everything looks good, I just can not turn on the wireless capability.

I haven't tried the ePSA yet, but I plan on doing that in the next 20 mins, so I'll have an additional comment after that's finished.

Thank you, but my problem remains unanswered.

Thank you, I did everything and the Diagnoses passed with no Errors. While i was in there I went to the Bios and found out that the function keys were set to multimedia. So the ODS file you provided worked. I set them back to function keys, and voila, wireless turns on via FN+F2 now. :) Thank you for your time.

With the Primary Surface Test Failed, thingy, is that something I should be worried about at some point down the road? Or dose the diagnoses override the results from the Alienware Autopsy? As in it's a more accurate reading of my system health.

Hi!

Great to hear the Wireless is working again!

The problem with the failed AlienAutopsy test it's just a problem with the software itself and the ePSA confirms that the hardware is OK. The latest update that was released for AlienAutopsy should take care of that problem.

Let me know if you need anything else!
