Alienware 17, Discrete Nvidia GPU not available

help needed :( My alienware 17 cant detect my gpu :( i have uninstalled and reinstalled many nvidia drivers and still it doesnt fix it :( ive also formatted my notebook but that didnt also fix it. Something's weird because if the driver is freshly installed, my gpu works and it is detected but after an hour, turning on my alienware my nvidia control panel will be missing and saying" You are not currently using a display attached to an NVIDIA GPU". another thing is when 332.21 drivers is installed i get BSODs Bad pool header :( in the device manager(not in 332.21 driver) NVIDIA GTX 770m says "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)" But all of the drivers is okay if im hibernating my laptop. Shutting down my laptop causes the loss of nvidia control panel and the GPU. Please help me fix this :( Thanks in advance :(

Shinzetsu,

Switches between discrete graphics and integrated graphics

* Be sure the AC adapter is plugged in
* Press the I/D GFX key
* Restart the AW17
* Press F2 to enter the Bios
* On the main screen, what does Integrated Graphics and Discrete Graphics 1 state?

That is good. That means that the Bios identifies the NVIDIA GFX. Go back into windows. I loaded the Dell Nvidia 331.65 drivers on my AW17 (GTX780M). I have not loaded any retail drivers. When you load drivers, choose Custom, Clean install.

* Try to get the NVIDIA control panel to open
* Under Display, click Change resolution
* Can you change the refresh rate on the right? If yes, that means you have the 120Hz 3D panel and do not have access to the CPU Intel Haswell HD Graphics

You computer should have Optimus, the best thing to do is to get back to the DELL stock drivers so that this feature works properly.

Haven't tried yet. Im scared that i might do something wrong. Is it easy to do? My bios can detect my nvidia so im kinda confuse if it is really a hardware issue.

If it's recognized in the BIOS then the issue could be more related to software. Have you tried AlienRespawn or a clean Windows installation.
