Alienware 17 R3 USB Ports Problem
Hi, I've been having this problem for about a week now I didn't think it was a big deal until now. I have been receiving this message from windows that there is a USB port power surge. After a few seconds it would disappear. And I could start using my mouse again (Roccat Kova[+], bought with the laptop as a recommendation on the list). Only until a day ago all my USB ports have stopped working. I have tried everything from uninstalling all the ports, too factory resetting my laptop. Nothing seems to work I was wondering if my ports had just burned out. How exactly would I figure this out, and if they are burned out how would I repair them?

Hi,
Can you confirm which Bios version you're running with the system?

Hi,
Try flashing the latest Bios version (version 1.2.7) and then test to confirm if the issue persists.

I have flashed my alienware to the latest Bios 1.2.7 and I am still receiving the error message USB Power Surge. (I am trying to plug in my ROCCAT Kova[+] Max Performance Gaming Optical Mouse) (Maybe my mouse takes up too much power, or is it fried)

I think I've figured out the problem, my gaming mouse is taking up to much power. I tried this other cheap mouse and it works perfectly fine on all the ports. How do I make my USB ports supply more power any idea?
