Alienware 17 won't start.

I used the fn 5 function to activate the switchable graphics which required a reboot to the system, however when the system restarted it was just a blank black screen.  I can tell the backlight is on and have tried multiple solutions but have come to a conclusion that there is a hardware malfunction.  When I hold fn and the power button it flashes colours and then just beeps repeatedly.  Curious if there is anything else I can try or if I should send it in for diagnosis and repairs.
