Console mode is only meant for playing games. I believe you could do both at the same time and it shouldn't affect the FPS. Try it out and let us know how it goes.
I did try and I couldn't find a way for it to work. Thank you though for the response. That lets me know that this community is helpful and I will direct all necessary questions to this website. Thanks again ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
The reason for this is the console mode is a separate login, so when you exit the desktop mode, it logs you out of your account and logs you into console mode. I'm not sure if there is a way to keep one login active while using another the way they have the Alpha set up.
