Alienware Alpha Delay..Very frustrated

So I ordered my Alienware Alpha on 9/29/15 with an estimated delivery date of 10/16/15 for which I felt was a reasonable but lengthy time frame as the system needed to built. On 10/13/15 I recieved an email telling me that my order would be delayed until 11/4/15 which would mean that I have to wait a whole month for it. I quickly called customer support and asked why my order was delayed. They told me that my order was delayed because it was "Canceled" in their system. How can it be canceled? The rep then told me that she can input my order again but I was looking at a 11/20/15 delivery date. I quickly became irritated because how could my order get canceled if I did not even cancel it?  That is a problem on Dell's end, not mine. Waiting over a month for a computer when I can get it overnight from Amazon is absolutely ridiculous! I have never had this problem with Dell over the last 10 years I have had business with them which is why I have stuck with them this long.

So the rep then told me that I can get the "Smart Selection" version of the Alienware Alpha so that it can be shipped SAME DAY (10/13/15) with a delivery date of 10/15/15. He told me that these systems are in stock, already built, and ready to ship. So I paid $100 extra for a product that the rep guranteed would be shipped SAME DAY (10/13/15) and be delivered 10/15/15. He kindly told me that he apologizes for any inconvenience this may have brought me. On my order status page everything looks correct and my Alienware Alpha and within 5 minutes my order jumped from "Processing" to "In Production". So the only thing keeping my new Alpha from getting delivered is actually getting shipped. At this point I was not worried as the rep told me that it will ship tonight and be delivered 10/15/15.

I get an email 10/14/15 stating that my order got delayed...again until 10/22/15. I can wait a week but the thing that is irritating me is..Why did it get delayed? For what reason? After waiting over an hour to speak to the next available customer service rep, the rep told me that it got delayed because my item was not in stock and that Dell needed the next shipment to arrive. I asked him why it was out of stock if when I ordered it....it was in stock? He was not very helpful and he told me to cancel my order and try ordering it again but he said that it'll arrive later than the expected date. I told him that I had already canceled my previous order so that I can get the next tier of the Alpha labeled "Smart Selection". I'm spending more money to receive an item faster and he wants me to cancel it again?? I checked the Alienware Alpha page and it is still showing the "Smart Selection" version as "In stock and available to ship same day 10/14/15". How can it be in stock and ready to ship if the rep says that it is in fact NOT in stock? This is truly false information on the webpage. If the item was not in stock, then why not have it displayed on the checkout page? I would have avoided the situation altogether. Is this a common problem with Dell/Alienware?

*Edit* It seems as my constant complaints have shipped my order and it is back on it's delivery date of 10/15/15. I have received my tracking number and everything. So at least that's settled.

Hi,

I’m sorry to hear about the inconvenience. All orders and transactions are subject to acceptance or cancellation by Dell, in Dell’s sole discretion. Please contact the Sales Support department to verify this information.

I have contacted them many times and nobody is giving me aclear explanation in regards to what is going on with my new order. I was guranteed same-day shipment but now I'm required to wait a week? This is ridiculous!

Hi,

Usually this has to do with parts that are in back order at the time and we have to wait for them to become available again or re-issue the order with another part number, what explanation did they give you?
