Alienware Alpha gaming issues

Hello,

I recently purchased my Alienware Alpha i3 less than a week ago, but have run into some issues and any help solving them would be greatly appreciated.

Firstly, on occasion while I am playing a game (ex. Sleeping Dogs) the game will cut out immediately and I will be sent back to the Steam Big Picture mode. This has happened three times now, twice it has ended the game completely and the other time it seemed to have paused the game and I was able to return to it.

Additionally, immediately after exiting a game the system becomes very slow and lags, and takes some time to synchronize the game data with Steam. When this happens, the Xbox controller also becomes unresponsive and seems to stay that way for some time. Therefore, I must use the mouse to continue operating the system and shut it off.

Thank you for your help and advice.

Hi,

The problem could related to the video card driver. We recommend you try reinstalling the video card driver in Desktop mode. You can find the driver on the dell site. Click here for the "Drivers and Downloads" link. Also, update your Bios firmware to the latest version. Click here for the Bios download link. If the problem continues, try doing an Alien Respawn system recovery. This will restore your system to factory settings. Click here to view a Dell article which explains how to use this program.
