Alienware Aurora - Factory Partitions / Command Center / Reformatting Problems.
Hello, recently I reformatted my Alienware Aurora to reinstall windows 7, which I have done quiet a few times. Though this time i reformatted it due to a virus, and while reinstalling windows I stupidly reformatted all the drives instead of just the main drive due to fear of the virus.
I reinstalled Windows 7, and while at first everything appeared to be working normally. My AlienFX and my Thermal Controller, no longer work. I have gone over many fixes for the command center programs, none of which worked. When i realized it may be due to the reformatting.
Any ideas on how to reinstall, or reset up the information lost in that partition?

Uh, did you create your restore disks using AlienRespawn or Dell Datasafe when you first got the machine? Those discs will install your default configuration (that has the drivers you need in them). Also you should have gotten a drivers disc with your Aurora. Then you could also get them here on dell.com via drivers and downloads. If you have to use another machine to get the all the current drivers and burn them to a CD/DVD, then install them on your Aurora. Don't know what else to tell you.

If you reinstalled Command Center from your install CD you will likely need to call tech support to get the motherboard replaced. Command Center on the Resource CD will downgrade the effects board which will fail.

As for the partition it is gone you don't need it anyway. As for the command center follow this order. Go to support.dell.com go to the drivers and downloads enter your tag or select your system best to enter your tag to insure you get all the right drivers when the drivers page pulls up do the following in this order below
1.Under aplications download the latest version command center and save it to desktop.
2..Shut down computer after shuting down unplug the powercord where it plugs into the back of your computer then press and hold the power button for 10 seconds(This drains the power out of the system most important the MIO board which controls vents & lights when it drains the power it resets/clears the MIO board) plug back in the power cord to back of computer.
3. Boot up PC then double click the latest version of Command Center you saved to desktop agree and follow prompts to instal (you may get to a point where it tells you that Microsoft .NETFramework 2.0 is required for Command Center to run if you do not have NETFramework 2.0 instaled at this time do so follow the link provided to instal it orsay yes to instal it whichever it may be..... follow prompts to compleate the Command Center instal and reboot.
Hope this helps best wishes
