Alienware Aurora R4 Windows 10 help
So, I woke up today to realize that Windows 10 mysteriously installed on my Aurora R4 without my consent, so whatever. Anyway, so far, it's been mostly okay but I'm having 1 main issue that I simply cannot figure out how to fix after multiple hours of troubleshooting and researching.
Weird behavior with my PC when shutting down and powering on. When powering on, the lights that are on top of the PC turn a white color for a few seconds before booting up. I haven't had this happen before but wanted to know if it is an issue. Secondly, when shutting down, the vents on top of the PC do not shut like they used to either. I tried jumping the CMOS but it didn't help this issue at all.
If you have the time, I would love to know how you guys overcame these issues if they were present on your machines as well.

Yes. I upgraded the BIOS a few months ago. Overall, the installation seemed to have gone well, but because of the fact that Microsoft installed Windows 10 automatically, I wasn't able to uninstall my drivers before the installation.
Other than that, everything seems okay. I'm just worried about the problems with the lights and the vents right now, and the fact that it takes a long time for my PC to shut down since upgrading.
Should I revert back to Windows 7? I'd rather not, but if I'm putting my PC into risk of damaging it then I'd rather revert back.

Hi,
Are you running the latest Bios version for your system (A11)?

Thanks! That seemed to work. I turned fast startup off and it seems fine now. I'm assuming that I should keep it off for now, right?
On a side note, there's one minor "problem" left that I am wondering about. When I shut down my PC, during the shutting down screen in Windows, the screen turns white for a second or so, and then goes back to normal. It doesn't seem to be causing any other issues, but I was wondering if you think this is something to worry about or not.
Other than that issue, everything seems to be working as intended.

Glad to hear that worked ... thanks for reporting back. Maybe your thread here will help the next Aurora-R4 user.
Yes, leave it off.
I would not worry about "white screen" as long as monitor goes into no-signal/power-save mode after Aurora has been off a little while.

Okay, thanks for that fix. You saved me a lot of time.
