Hi, my current model is the M17x... I've had it for roughly 4 months now, and one thing i've noticed when im playing games (Well, Diablo 3)  when it overheats and the system lowers the performence to cooldown, i put my hands at the back vents where hot air is blown out, and the one on the right seems to be blowing out alot harder than the vent on the left... So im not sure if they should be blowing out equal amounts or is one generally weaker than the other.

I've never had an alienware before so im not sure how every thing works. Some help would be appriciated :)

Hi Jamie

Well I think the key thing here is it overheats. At 4 months old you would not expect it to need cleaning so soon so something is wrong. I would call Dell and have them trouble shoot it since it's such a new system it should still be covered by warranty.

Which M17x model is it? (The current model is the M17x R4. I know you said you have had it only 4 months. Was it purchased new with a warranty, or is it an older second hand or refurbished system? What CPU and GPU does it have?

Have you checked the temperature(s) of the CPU and GPU to see which one is overheating? There are a number of free apps you can use for that. I use HWiNFO64.
