Alienware Legacy
About 5 years ago while stationed in South Korea (USAF) I decided to buy a gaming desktop. After much research I settled on Alienware because they were one of the few systems I could buy online and have shipped to base due to Dell's agreement with the military. Upon arrival I had several issues with the pc and after a long troubleshoot the problem was both bad memory and and the OS. After contacting Dell my only option was to sent it to US on my own dime and wait up to 2 months.
Fast forward to 2015...
I decided to buy a new laptop after my iBuyPower finally overheated (3 Years Old) and I eventually settled on an Alienware because it had the same hardware at a more affordable price than the MSI counterpart. When I got home, I ahd issues out of the box. It froze often and was very slow and then finally died. When I went to return it I found that the PC crashed on day 31 of ownership so I had to send it to Dell.
I was on the line for 4 hours and finally the tech realized I had to send the laptop in because even the re-spawn was failing. Next they sent the PC to the wrong address. I will accept part of the blame because I did not discover the issue until they closed the ticked a few days after I did not recieve the box. Once I actually recieved the box and sent it to Dell I experienced about a 5 day turn around. Amazing!
Unfortunately, upon powering up the laptop I got the same blue screen of death and nothing worked. I again called tech support, again tech support ran me through all of the same steps, again nothing. Then the tech put me on hold for 20 minitues so another tech could tell me how to reinsatll the OS. The problem was that I had already told the first tech I never had an OS USB. Now I must ait for a USB to arrive in the mail and install the OS myself.
I cannot wait to get off of work after a 14 hour day (I am a Chef) and install OS on a laptop that I mailed to Dell for them to install the OS.

Update...
Dell contacted me and the fix was for me to install the OS via USB (mailed overnight) even though I had Fedex'ed the computer to them to fix and they returned it in the same condition.
I began the install process after receiving the USB in the mail and I received several error messages and the computer still does not work.
I think the next step is a for sale thread to fund the purchase of a new non-Alienware laptop.
