Alienware M11xR2 wireless driver issue
Hello, I have a very big problem with my M11xR2
the drivers offered on the Dell drivers page arn't working! Each time I try to install them he says something like "The software cannot be installed, a downgrade from 14.2.0000 to 13.02.0000 is not possible." I cannot find the right drivers, neither do I know which network adapter I have exactly! The network adapter shows just as "network adapter" in the hardware menu. It has no drivers installed and windows doesnt find them either!
This is a little frustrating as those drivers are listed on the official page..please can someone help me? Or at least give me further instructions on how to get my WLAN working?!
thanks!

Go back into Device Manager and click the network adapter. Then double click the network card or whatever is shown when you expand it.
Then go to details and device description. That should tell you what it has. If not then you can always look at the tech specs of what you bought ether on your paper work or using Dells system scan. Sometimes using Device Instance Path will show you a more detail description of what you have.
Dells system scan, click the Current System Configuration tab and run it: support.dell.com/.../details
Once you get the type of card you have then you should be able to find the right driver. Broadcom has much newer drivers then Dell. I can't even log on with Dells.
Sometimes uninstalling it from device manager and then rebooting and reinstalling can fix it.
Example:
This pic shows I have a Broadcom.
This one shows it's a Broadcom 1698.

Thanks mate,
but this didn't help :)
when I look up in the device manager it doesnt tell me a name. On the dell driver page (after I entered my service tag) I'll be told to install a total of 21 drivers and applications. Under network there is listed Atheros-Driver, Dell-Application, Dell-Driver (Wireless WLAN 1520 Half Mini Card). Those three are working just fine. But then there is a forth "Intel-Driver" and it lists:
