Try these troubleshooting steps to rule out a corrupt BIOS problem:
Press and Hold the “FN” key down.
Without releasing the “FN” key, Power “ON” the system.
You will notice the computer will try to turn ON and after a few seconds will turn OFF and back ON automatically. At this point you can release the “FN” Key.
If the computer starts displaying image it means that now is completing the POST. Load into Windows and Update the system BIOS to the latest Version available (Re-Flash it if you are using the latest version already).
If issue persists, send me a private message with your Service Tag and contact information so I can assist you further.
Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately...I can't flash a bios as the laptop literally will only stay powered on for exactly thirty seconds. I've replaced thermal compound and I'm assuming a thermal event is getting triggered..but no luck. Any other suggestion is greatly appreciated.
The symptoms point towards a Motherboard issue. I recommend you contact Tech Support or send me a private message with the information I requested above for further assistance.
