Alienware M14x died at start up.

The laptop was working fine the day before this happened. I pressed the power button and it loaded all the way to the windows logo and after that it shut off. I tried to turn it on again but nothing happen: no beeping, no loading screen, no blue screen. The battery is fully charge and even when I use the charging cord it wont come up, any ideas what it could be and if possible how I can solve it.

The laptop is completely dead, i cannot run any of the troubleshooting programs...

If the system is not powering on at all, test it with the AC adapter only and the battery only. Also, try a power drain (disconnect AC adapter and remove battery, press and hold power button for 30s, reconnect everything and try to turn it on again).
If the problem persists, the problem is most likely related to the Motherboard and it will have to be replaced. In that case, I recommend you call Technical Support in your country and request for further assistance.

Hi,

First, I recommend you both run an ePSA diagnostic to check for hardware errors.

branzy1987, do you also own an M14XR1? Does it shut down when it reaches the Windows log in screen as well?

If the part is not in stock or if the system has to go to depot for the replacement, the service might take longer.

OMG this worked thank you so much. I also went ahead and ran the diagnostics test and it turns out that the battery is about to die. Thank you so much!!!!

The service said that it will replace the motherboard ... but is not in stock...how long it will take for it to come to Romania from U.S. minimum 3 weeks for low shipping costs.

branzy1987, I don't have the exact time-frame for that. Ask the Technical Support department for more details and an estimated time-frame.
