Run the LCD BIST (Built In Self Test) and post the results. * Switch the laptop off * Press and hold the D key on the keyboard while pressing the power button, then release both at the same time * This will initiate a Grey screen, then Red, then Blue, then Green then White, to allow you to inspect the entire LCD for color purity on each screen and to better identify defects
i did this and the screen just changes color. The screen looks perfect with all colors except when the screen is black then i see that white smudge that is up on that picture.
Ok. The LCD will need to be replaced. You will need to contact Alienware Support for your country. Explain the troubleshooting we have done (LCD BIST).
thank you, now one last question, i bought this laptop off a friend and his warranty is good until july 2012, Can i claim this or do i need to go through him
