im sure its not overheating problem but looks like reinstaling of windows helped ...

I have shutdown issues on m17x as well, however mine started happening after I installed new windows.
the display blacks out and the computer continues working(keyboard lights are on and alienware logo is on).
what is the definite solution to this.
