Alienware R4 - Raid Screen - Disk Error has occured
Purchased a new Alieware back in June of 2012. So far have really enjoyed using it. However have had a couple of issues the past 2 weeks that have me a little concerned.
Computer has crashed a couple of times - just frozen in the middle of an application/game.
On boot up, I now have an error message on the RAID screen - a disk error has occured (on only one of the disks). I have gone into the utility, but it does not provide any information - only allows creating/deleting current RAID setup.
Anyone had that issue?

hutcha4113,
Is that the complete error? Have you run the Alienware Diagnostics?
* Insert any Dell CD in the drive
* Close any windows that appear
* Restart the system
* At the Dell logo screen press F12
* At the One Time Boot menu, press the Down arrow key to highlight Diagnostics
* Press Enter to begin the Diagnostics
* The error codes can be found here http://dell.to/GD5XJJ

I have had the same error -- the exact message -- error occurred and when I do perform the testing -- all passes.
Any idea how to fix or get rid of the error? my time line is exactly two weeks ago as well.

I ended up downloading off the Dell Driver page, the Intel Disk Utility (GUI). When opened in Windows, it showed me the same message (however no details). Clicked on the drive to clear the message - now showing green.
Still not sure what the issue was. I also ran the tests (f12 at boot up) and everything checked out.

I have the same problem, and when I run the diagnostic it says all is fine, but when I reboot I get on the post before the computer fully boots, the warning about drive error occurred (0). Also I can not find the download at dell drivers page for the intel disk utility GUI, nothing with that name listed, need to know how to find this to download as suggested below.

On the driver download page for Alienware R4. Under Serial ATA category. Called - Intel Rapid Storage Technology Utility.

Found this thread because I have had the same issue this morning when I booted up. Downloaded the Intel thing and ran it and it says
Detected one or more errors, data may be lost, ARRAY0: Failed
The second SATA 932 disk in the list has a X in red on it...What to do now???

I ended up calling technical support. I had to re-image the PC a couple of times, but the issues never went away. Techician was sent out to the house - believe he replaced the Motherboard (been a while so I can't remember).
To this day, I still have a weird freezing issue - pops up every once in a while - usually when I am using Explorer to search the drives, and browsing the internet at the same time.
Otherwise, I have not experienced issues with the RAID since.
