Alienware running hot
I've recently bought a new Alienware M17.
I've benchmarked the new beast using games and benchmarks and noticed that the temperature forthe GPU is high.
My CPU remains under 75 degrees celcius, but the GPU (880M) has run up to 92 degrees when playing the Witcher 2 and up to 88 degrees when running the 3DMark benchmark.
Considering this is a new laptop, that does seem excessively high.
Additionally, do note that during the benchmarks the fans were audibly working hard, so I don't think that is it.
Also, the laptop remains perfectly cool to the touch.
Any advice?
The specs are as follows:
Intel Core i7-4710MQ Processor
GTX 880m 8 GDDR 5
Intel HD Graphics 4600
16GB DDR3L at 1600MHz
17.3" (439.42 mm) WLED HD+ Anti-Glare Display (1920x 1080)
Windows 8.1

I too have an Alienware 17, 2014 model Bios A13 fully updated system with 4910mq + 880m
Fan speeds for me are too low, maximum GPU fan speed for my Alienware 17 2014 model goes no higher than 3400rpm, which is not enough to wash out the heat during gaming. After about 15 minutes of gaming the temperature is in the 90's and the GPU fan speed does not increase its curve.
