Alienware - Windows 8 Drivers Direct Links

Dell officially support the models listed here. I have put together all of the drivers for these models as direct links from the ftp website due to woes with Drivers and Downloads (28/10/2012).

Alienware Aurora R4 - Windows 8 64 bit

Alienware M11x R3 - Windows 8 64 bit

Alienware M14x R2 - Windows 8 64 bit

Alienware M17x R4 - Windows 8 64 bit

Alienware M18x R2 - Windows 8 64 bit

Alienware x51 - Windows 8 64 bit

For unsupported systems or systems not mentioned in the document see the instructions here.

Please everyone who has experienced issues with the Dell drivers and downloads service. Please add your vote to this poll here. Also state your model and location.

I want to highlight this issue to Dell who are stating to me their drivers and downloads service is working properly. Any feedback for issues you've experienced add as comments at the bottom of the poll. In the meantime use the direct links above. Note if you had to resort to use the direct links or prefer the direct links please vote yes in the poll and leave a comment in the poll again adding in the system and location.

I am also looking for wireless network card drivers.  I think that If I update them, it might help my download speed problem.

That system is not supported by Dell here.

It will likely work fine with Windows 8 however, 2 drivers you need are here follow the instructions there also to see if any additional driver is required in the device manager.

THANK YOU!!!!  I was going crazy yesterday.  Can't wait to go home and give this a shot!  I was installing Windows 7 drivers and that wasn't working so well.  Should I wipe my windows 8 install and restart from the top?  Should I install these in the order mentioned in the FAQ section?

If you don't have much on your machine, I advise following my guide here A Clean install of Windows 8.

Try these taken from other Alienware systems:

Intel (R) WiMAX Link 6250 http://downloads-us.dell.com/FOLDER00787690M/2

Intel (R) WiMAX Link 6250 http://downloads-us.dell.com/FOLDER00964556M/2

The Wireless 1520 driver should be included in Windows 8 as Dell don't provide it for the Otiplex 380. I think the AR8132 LAN should also be included in Windows 8. Have you checked the Device Manager for errors?

Dell ST Microelectronics DE351DL Motion Sensor http://ftp1.dell.com/folder00951951m/6/

Synaptics Touchpads use the driver here its for Windows 7 but it'll work with Windows 8.

Dell Bluetooth 355, 360, 365, 370, 375 and 380. Use the Bluetooth 380 Driver here: http://ftp1.dell.com/folder00865420m/1/

I don't see a BIOS update to 06 for my Aurora R4 when I pull up my service tag... that is very interesting.

I have less experience with Alienware systems then I do with Dell systems. However the issue is presumably the same.

1 year ago "Dell upgraded there Dell Drivers and Downloads Page" everything worked perfectly before that upgrade. After the upgrade I noticed many, many, many service tags were giving the incorrect drivers or defaulting to BIOS as the OS. Whats more several systems failed to give some of the critical drivers common to all systems of that type. e.g. the chipset and the BIOS update. Arguably the most critical drivers for the system. Many people were loading their OS with only half of the drivers.

I have complained about it several times to Dell and suggested additional improvements such as listed the drivers in the correct install order. The case is so bad that in my wikies I recommend simply to not use the Service Tag, Now they have "upgraded the Drivers and Download Page" again and pretty much nothing works.

I would recommend not using the Drivers and Downloads and just going for the direct links however I cannot possibly provide direct links (and keep them up to date) for every Dell system. They made the ftp website browse for drivers which was vastly superior however designed for more advanced users but did not update it since...

I recently upgraded the bios to A06 for aurora R4. Now my SSD cannot be detected by Bios. Also the multiplier for overclocking is now disable. Dont update the bios. Before that its working fine on A05. No problem or what soever. It also worked on win8 flawlessly. Not sure why DELL release this A06 bios stated for win8 but introduce failure??? Anybody with aurora R4 update the bios to A06??

:( Still no fix for the the M14X subwoofer support. Very disappointed. The very second I re-installed I lost it.
