Thanks man. I turned off XMP and changed the ratio to x10, but no joy. It's still just showing 16 gigs in the BIOS and OS. :(

What speed is it running at now? If 10 is no good try 8.

If 8 doesn't do it then try reseating all the sticks of RAM. You may also need to default the BIOS. Just remember if you do default the BIOS you will need to put your settings back in such as if it's in RAID and overclocks.

The BIOS is showing only 16 gigs. Been in there and tried to find a way to max it out to 24, but I couldn't find anyway of changing it.

Usually, the first check you do is in BIOS. If it's wrong there, it's wrong everywhere.

So, which DIMMs are reading wrong in BIOS? ... the original set of 3 or the upgrade set of 3? Try re-seating all dimms. Is it all DDR3-1333 ?

You have Aurora (aka Aurora R1).

See PDF Owners and Service Manuals for limits. I run 2x6=12gb tri-channel 1333.

What does BIOS show? What makes you think it's only 16?

The speed is too high. Bring it down to 1333 or 1066. Right now you have it running at 1600 and at that speed it can't support 24gb.

Okay, I guess I'm a total nublet. I can't find where I can slow it down to 1333.

Go into the BIOS. Go to the Frequency/Voltage Control Tab. Then go to Memory Ratio.

In this pick the BCLK ( CPU Speed ) is 133. So to get a 1333mhz speed on the memory you would set the ratio to 10. 10 x 133 = 1330 or 1333mhz. You also need to turn of XMP if you are using XMP memory.

Your pic shows a bus speed of 132.56 so a x10 on the memory ratio should be right. Try x10 and see what happens

morblore, I owe you a beer! I set it down to 8, but the BIOS was still just seeing 16, so I reseated the RAM, as you suggested, and BAM! There is was all 24 glorious gigs. So i decided to try 10 again, and there was all 24 gigs again. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Cool! Just don't go above 1333 or you will be right back where you started
