Aurora overclock results!

I have a aurora with a i7 920, 6gb ddr3 @1067, 2 5870's, 500gb hard drive, a dvd burner/player and a sea sonic 750x power supply.  Here is my crysis benchmark. I think it is pretty respectable for a machine that people say can't be overclocked.................

Hi H2on0, can you please give details about your OCsettings for 4009mhz,thanks

probably( 211x19), if so the aurora would keep uncorspeed of 5064mhz (211x24) ??

I had turbo mode disable and ran it at 20x mulitplier 200fsb  memory multiplier 6x. I can't for the life of me find my settings though. It ran very hot and wasn't very stable.  Was going to need a lot of tweaking.  That being said I am happy with my 3.75 o/c I have now.  The most important upgrade anybody who has an aroura with the alienware liquid cooling is a120mm fan. Place the fan on the back of the radiator in your case blowing into the radiator. http://blog.corsair.com/?p=987.  Have the hot air blowing out the back of the case. Here is the most helpful guide I found. http://www.overclock.net/intel-cpus/538439-guide-overclocking-core-i7-920-4-a.html. What do I have my ine set at now?

xd bit enabled

intel speed step disabled

intel c state disabled

qpi freq.  auto

memory ratio 8

xmp support disabled

cpu core(non turbo) 20

I have mushkin blackine memory set at   7    9    7    24    74     10    6    4    6    1T

adjust cpu bclk 187

spread spectrum disabled

adjust pci freq auto

adjust pci e freq 100

turbo tech disabled

dynamic cpu vcore offset +140mv

ddr3 memory voltage 1.65

ioh 1.2

qpi and uncore offset 120mv

I t took a lot of trial and error to get it where it is stable.  Almost 2 days straight.

Hi. Ive been looking around for good answers about OC my alienware last two weeks. Finally i guess some of you have alienware aswell and like to OC.

Havent tried this settings yet, But you have orginal hardware? Not new ddr ram?

I got my new alienware aurora alx 1 week ago, and havent changed any hardware. Might buy new memory later.

My OC result is as follows:

Core i7 960 (default 3.2ghz) running at 165x24 = 3960mhz. I replaced the 3GB factory-installed ram with 6GB of Kingston 2000mhz-rated RAM, running at 1980mhz @1T.

One thing I found out was by enabling 'intel speed step" and "intel c state" options in bios, the system runs way way quiter. "turbo tech" needs to be disabled whenever OCing.
