Aurora R4 Lights randomly goes off, zero degree sensors

Hi fellow Aliens,

I was able to connect ASUS Z270G with MIO board of an Auoroa R4.

Problems show up:

1. Lights of the body, left and right panels randomly go off.

2. After turning off the PC, the Alien head and front ventilation lights do not turn off.

3. Ambient Sensors 1 & 2 report zero degrees.

For the sensors, I am considering attaching the T_SENSOR Headers.

Help?

glad you're sorted out. 30C / 86F may be right for ambient case temps; mine's at 27 / 81, it's muggy in here (it rained earlier, window's open, hot and humid out)

 Marty's at 32-ish on Aurora

'Random Thoughts'

CmndCntr software was designed only for original mthrbrd; it is common to see erroneous data at times w/aftrmrkt boards. 0 as a temp reading may or may not be a permanent artifact; if Asus board has Thermal Sensors, use them umtil CmndCntr reports temps accurately again

Unplug PC from wall, hold top power button in for 1minute (to drain residual power), plug back in, power up, re-appraise situation (do this procedure whenever CmndCntr / AlienFx issue arise)

Launch CmndCntr.exe, click 'repair' & restart

if using CmndCntr3.6, try 3.5 ... if on 3.5 try 3.6

Make sure the 'go dark' feature isn't on (in lower desktop tray icons, right click Alienhead)

Run AlienFxTester.exe

Ensure all MIO connectors are seated

If on W10, turn off fast startup

In Power Plan >Disable Hybernate, disable USB Selective Suspend

When in doubt, obtain spare MIO w/same part# as one in there

Hello Cas,

I was able to solve it by forcing Windows to perform full/complete shutdown

as opposed to partial shutdown.

My question is, is it normal to have 30 centigrade-ish temperature reading

on the sensors?

Makes sense. One more question, if you play a demanding game or doing heavy

work, would your ThermalControl sensor readings rise?

sure. if u want to see the temps drop, take the side panel off a few minutes, replace it & watch temps rise again
