Aurora R4 System Exchange Help

Dont know where to begin, I had a XPS 730X that I purchased in Dec 2008 for $2,800 and used a %25 off coupon for about $2250.  That included a full 4 year accidential warranty.  Well it finally died, over heated, hard drive errors, etc, ran diagnositcs and called Dell and gave them the error codes, they said that they recommend a system exchange, and the lady would talk to her manager in the morning,  and call me back the next night when she gets in a 930pm.  Next night I call at 1130pm, asked to talk to the lady who handled my case and they said that she isnt working today.  I then again spent 2 hours on the phone troubleshooting the same issues, same errors, etc, same thing, we will call you tomorow.  Finally get intouch with someone, stated that they will send me a system exchange, they were just waitng for approval and they will call me back.Wednesday they call me back, told me i'm gonna get a Brand new system, which would be an alienware aurora R4.  I stated that the only thing I wanted was the ALX Chassis, so my system wouldnt over heat again, and I did not care about it being brand new, i just wanted the computer because i needed it, and I only wanted the ALX Chassis.  I call backed on Thursday, same thing, yes sir you are getting the alx chassis, but we dont have any other specs yet, because your system is being built.  I said ok, when should I get a call to find out the specs, and they said in about 7-10 business days, as the system was still being processed and built.  Friday morning, I get an email stating that my computer was shipped. I called them up and said, what happened to the 7-9 days and what happened to calling me and going over the specs before they sent the computer out.  I then asked what was the service tag so i can look it up online, and they said we dont know yet, it takes 48 hours for it to update in the system.  I stated again for the 100th time, all I want is the ALX chassis, and was told again, yes sir you are getting it.

So now I have a computer being sent to me, with no specs no nothing, just tracking number and will be here on monday.  Saturday I called again, to find out what the deal was, and same thing, no one knew anything, but this time the i checked the tracking number and got the service tag, and bam, says not in the system, to check back in 48 hours.  Well monday came and low and behold, bam, no ALX chassis, just a plain old regular chassis.  I did get a 1TB Hard drive, (orignial was WD Velicipraptor 10,000RPM Hard Drive), 16 gigs Memory (Original 6GB), a 3820 Processor,(970 was the old one),  2 Radeon 7800 Video Cards (Original was 2 Nvidia Geforce 9800 SLI) and windows 7 Home,( Purchassed Windows 7 Ultimate).  Now, I went online, and priced the computer and it was around $1800 with all those parts that they sent me. but on the invoice the parts were listed at $1347.00.   Again, not what I originally paid for, but all I wanted was the ALX Chassis.  And this computer had a great big REFURBISHED sticker on the computer and all over the box it came in, again, original computer was Brand New.

Now, I know you think i'm being greedy, but i'm not.  I stated numerous times, I dont care about the video card, I will take one instead of two, i dont care about the memory, the nothing.  All I wanted was the ALX Chassis, and I was promised that I would get it.  I called to compain, and talked to everyone in the company so far, and was told the same thing, sorry sir, you got a upgraded computer and that is all your getting.  I stated well what about what I was promised, and I was told that they dont even have ALX Chassis instock, and they are not going to sell them anymore.  I said why is it on the website, and they said its probably a mistake.  He basically said, that this is what i got, it is more then fair, and that there is nothing else they can do.

I then explained what if you purchased an original IPHONE, bought a 4 year warranty on it, and then after 3 years, it broke, and then they sent you a new one, an you received it, and it was PINK.  You call to complain, and they said, sorry sir, we upgraded you to the IPHONE 4S so you should be happy.

I'm more mad about being lied to this whole entire time, talking to a bunch of people who just kept lying a passing the buck.  I dont know what to do.  I purchased a computer that was BRAND NEW, and it broke, and then dell decided to give me what they wanted.  I dont even want the RADEON video cards, as I have always used NVIDIA.  I sent an EMAIL to, but i have a feeling that is not gonna go anywhere as I talked to some guy from Executive Customer Support Team, and he said the same thing, sorry nothing they can do.

Well I'm asking, what can I do?

well thank you for responding, and I dont think i ever stated that i wanted a "NEW" system.  I wanted to be able to agree on the parts that I eventually purchased, and it was not 4 years old, it was 3 1/2.  I got a computer that was refurbished, why couldnt i get a refurbished computer from the outlet store then?  They have alot of Aurora R4 systems on there with the ALX Chassis.

Update - The sales site is very confusing. On the Dell Canada website (http://dell.to/MDUeAX), you see five choices. Lets number them from the left 1,2,3,4,5.
1,2 Standard Chassis
3,4,5 ALX Chassis

So it appears that your exchange had some upgrades and some you do not agree with. I cannot do anything about the chassis but send me via private message the following so I can compare the two builds -
Email Address:
Name:
Shipping Address:
Phone Number:
Old and Replacement Service Tag numbers:

Dell Policy Concerning Refurbished Parts
If the part/system exchange is setup inside the first 90 days from the original invoice date, the replacement parts will be New. Once outside of the first 90 days from the original invoice date, the replacement part/system will be Refurbished.

Hi Chris,

I'm so happy with the Aurora I have that I have decided to order a new more powerful one from Dell.ca, since I am in Canada.

I saved the machine I configured in my cart till payday.

I selected the ALX chasis with what I assume is the active venting and extra lighting.

Are you saying I won`t be gertting the ALX option when I finally go to pay for it.

Hope to hear from you.
