Battery/cable/connection fault

Question

I've had my Alienware 18 for just over 2 years now, a few months ago I started having this issue where the laptop would stop thinking that the charging cable was plugged in even though it was. All I had to do was take out the cable and plug it back in and it would work. But a minute or so later the screen goes dark as if to tell me that the laptop isn't charging - so I remove the power cable and plug it back in - and it starts working again. This process repeats until suddenly it just works for a few weeks until the problem happens again. I know that my laptop battery needs replacing but should I be getting an issue with the power cable connection to the laptop?

Hi, Try updating the Bios to the latest in our website (enter service tag). Let me know how it goes!
